BIG and HUGE conga rats to [livejournal.com profile] jedi007 and [livejournal.com profile] synnoveaevael on their engagement!

"Ve're goingk to have to remodel ze castle, to make room for allllll ze babies!"

In completely unrelated news, Rich and I went to see Across the Universe last night.

YOU MUST GO SEE THIS MOVIE. Do it now! I can wait...

I thought it was absolutely brilliant. The songs were seamlessly integrated into the plot, as was the dancing, (for the most part.) It's been ages since I've cried, laughed, and cheered during a movie. This one did it all for me. Loved it! The characters were well developed, the plot made sense, the music worked. The dancing didn't look over-choreographed; it was more like, "We're messing around in a bowling alley, but we're all doing it at the same time." It wasn't, "And now we're all DANCING!"

I absolutely must have this on DVD when it comes out. Rich and I ran over to B&N after the movie let out and bought the soundtrack.

Mind you, I was already a Beatles fan to begin with, but now I want to complete my collection that much more. When the DVD comes out, I think I may cuddle it. It was really that good.

Also, Eddie Izzard's in it. ;)

Only one thing I have a question about. During the "With a Little Help From my Friends" sequence, where's the joint?

Everyone congratulate my darling [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop on his totally awesome new job with a lighting company!

I'll let him post the details once he calms down from all the excitement.

Congratulations on getting out of retail, baby! I love you!

They were on Mom's desk. No, I don't know why. I'm just glad that I won't have to wear my contacts constantly for the next two weeks!

Not for me, but for a couple of good friends of mine. Their third roomie up and decided she's moving, so they need someone for her room, and quick!

They're located in Warwick, NY. Here's the blurb from Kim:

Some basic requirements: Must like cats, brainy types, and the occasional loud party. Must not smoke or do drugs of any kind. Must be responsible, have a steady job, and be willing to hold up their share of the housework without constantly being asked to and to purchase their share of household items willingly, and finally must be able to afford rent and their third of the utilities. Harmonious couples can apply as well as individuals. Couples who are always fighting need not apply.

On September 10th, 2006, for the first time in my rose selling career, I will not be present at the New York Renaissance Faire.

"Oh no, Bubbles! Say it ain't so!" I know, I know. It's terrible. I'll miss you guys!

"But WHY must you miss faire? WHY??" [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop's mother* is getting married. Unfortunately, it will cause more problems if I don't go to the wedding than will result from my missing faire.

I was very disappointed and upset when I found out that I would have to miss a day of faire for the first time ever. I had hoped to have a perfect attendance record, even before [livejournal.com profile] euph0ra started offering incentives for that feat. Of course, this is the first year she's doing that, and it's the first time I'm missing. Go figure.

There is a bright spot amidst the darkness, however. [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop's mother and her fiance have asked me to photograph the wedding. Having never done this before, I wouldn't feel right charging them for my services, but if the pictures turn out well, I figure I could start a small side business. It's just a thought, but we'll see.

Also, the wedding's not 'til noon, so I get to sleep in!

In conclusion, mark your calendars. September 10th all of you will be cavorting and having tons of fun at faire, and I shall be at a wedding for the crazy people.

*Note for those new to my LJ: [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop is my boyfriend of three (fabulous!) years, Rich. His mother is completely insane, and I don't particularly care for her. (She is completely oblivious to that fact.) Her fiance, Norman, is also crazy, but somehow manages to be the stable one in the relationship. (He's significantly more likeable.) The capital of Kansas is Topeka, and there will be a pop quiz sometime next week.

*Ahem*

I recently came across something online that brought to mind an old incident, and prompted this post:

I have never, EVER, in my LIFE glittered, fairy dusted, or done anything of the like to ANYONE. Anyone who has said that I have done so to them is sadly mistaken. I pride myself on being an honest person, and I expect honesty from others.

That is all.
