The movie is AMAZING. Having read the book recently, I thought it was absolutely perfect. The story isn't identical, of course, but the changes worked really well.

GO SEE IT. NOW. You have until the end of this week to catch it in 3-D, because the Jonas Brothers Movie comes out in the 3-D on Friday, at which point the theaters with 3-D capable screens will be dedicating them to that. Bah.

Things I Need:
1. Orange polka dot pajamas.
2. Short, dark blue wig.
3. Crystal dragonfly hair clip.
4. Grey puffy vest?
5. Limo driver hat?
6. Red messenger bag.
7. Floppy stuffed black cat.

Just to clarify, Tim Burton had nothing at all to do with the Coraline movie.

That is all. You may now return to your regularly scheduled LJ.

The first person who can make me a "Bad Ass Mouse" icon with this picture or similar wins a cookie:

Prince Caspian rocked. There are definitely some issues with the plot vs. the book, but when are there not? I'm craving to re-read the whole series again now, of course. We'll see, though. I have something like four or five books on deck, one of which was lent to me unexpectedly by my Grandpa, and one of which belongs to [ profile] thunderemerald.

Narnia books only take me a day to read at most, so maybe this weekend.

When the new Star Trek movie comes out, I won't be seeing it in theaters.

I don't think I'll be able to stop myself from shouting, "SAY WESSELS!" at the screen every time the character of Chekov is in the shot.

where the "One of us! One of us!" line that I chant at mah Lushies comes from?

It's a good movie, even though it was banned for a number of years. They used genuine circus freaks and deformed people in the cast, not special effects of make up. It's about the only place you'll ever see an armless and legless man roll, light, and smoke a cigarette.

Apparently, I can't listen to "Let it Be" without getting teary-eyed any more.

Also, Joe Cocker singing "Come Together" is made of awesome!

(Have you seen Across the Universe yet???)

BIG and HUGE conga rats to [ profile] jedi007 and [ profile] synnoveaevael on their engagement!

"Ve're goingk to have to remodel ze castle, to make room for allllll ze babies!"

In completely unrelated news, Rich and I went to see Across the Universe last night.

YOU MUST GO SEE THIS MOVIE. Do it now! I can wait...

I thought it was absolutely brilliant. The songs were seamlessly integrated into the plot, as was the dancing, (for the most part.) It's been ages since I've cried, laughed, and cheered during a movie. This one did it all for me. Loved it! The characters were well developed, the plot made sense, the music worked. The dancing didn't look over-choreographed; it was more like, "We're messing around in a bowling alley, but we're all doing it at the same time." It wasn't, "And now we're all DANCING!"

I absolutely must have this on DVD when it comes out. Rich and I ran over to B&N after the movie let out and bought the soundtrack.

Mind you, I was already a Beatles fan to begin with, but now I want to complete my collection that much more. When the DVD comes out, I think I may cuddle it. It was really that good.

Also, Eddie Izzard's in it. ;)

Only one thing I have a question about. During the "With a Little Help From my Friends" sequence, where's the joint?
fairyrune: (Default)
1. Go see "Pirates of the Caribbean 2: Dead Man's Chest."
2. Google "Davy Jones."
3. Observe the first link or two.
4. Sing the following song:
"Hey hey, we're the (undead) Monkees!"
5. Die laughing!
fairyrune: (Hammy!)
[ profile] aziraphalesshop and I saw "Over the Hedge" last night. It was adorable!

And no, I am not Hammy. But I am stealing this icon from Nikki. ;)

1. R2D2 Plush
2. Yoda Plush
3. That lizard thing Obi-Wan rides. Not a plush, a real one.

I have an assignment for all you Star Wars geeks out there, because I don't have time to watch the original trilogy today, and it's driving me nuts.
Somewhere, in either Empire or Jedi I believe, there is a scene between Luke and Leia in which he asks her if she remembers her real mother. I think at this point Luke knows that he's Leia's twin, but he can't tell anyone so that the baddies don't try and kill Leia off. Leia says she was very young when her mother died.

I need to find this scene, because I may have discovered a plot hole the size of Texas, but it seems I'm the only one who remembers that conversation.

Oh, and PS-On Wednesday I'm asking my manager if it would be OK for me to streak my hair purple. :)

That's right folks. Whilst all of my friends eagerly await their chance to sit in an overcrowded movie theater and watch what is (statistically speaking) most likely to be a highly disappointing movie, I eagerly await the chance to unwrap my freshly dyed wardrobe. One shirt, one pair of socks, one pair of jeans, one skirt, one pair of shorts, and one teddy bear shirt that Elmo refused to wear are getting happily colored in my basement. My hands are quite colorful at the moment as well.

Now, I know most of you will want to yell at me for not wanting to see the final Star Wars movie, but I was so disappointed in the last two, that I just can't bring myself to willingly set myself up for that sort of let down again. The last one made me angry. I was writhing in pain during that horrible poetry scene. It's only redeeming value was Yoda, but how could anything created by Henson not be redeeming?

It has always been a dream of mine, of sorts, to make an entire tie-dye outfit, including underwear. Unfortunately, I could not find appropriately-fibered undergarments, so I gave up on that small part. (Do you know how difficult it is to find a 100% cotton bra that doesn't scream "grandma"?)

Today, I found the shorts and skirt. I already had the rest of the necessary material, and so the dying began! Nine-thirty tomorrow evening is the unveiling, and if they come out well, I think I may wear the skirt and top to my graduation. :) Hopefully the dye will come out of my hands before then...

Anyway, I'm off to play more Sims 2, while all of my loser friends waste ten bucks on a movie they're all going to be ranting about tomorrow.

(The above comment is not to be taken seriously in the event that I'm totally wrong. :))

Farscape Miniseries? A. Maz. ING!
Favorite line? "I'm getting shot at by the Electric Mayhem!"

Those of you who have not sent me your snail mail addresses (which is most of you) will officially be declared kupo faces. Soon. Avoid this fate by sending your snail mail to

...I've got M&M's. All is right with the world.

I just finished watching the aforementioned extended DVD. It's A-MAZ-ING! They even put my favorite part of the whole series, where Fangorn forest up and moves itself to Helm's Deep, and kills the remaining orcs. Yay! Everyone and their mom needs to see this version. It's fabulous.

In other news, Michael Jackon finally got busted.

I know, bad Gollum reference. I couldn't help myself. However, the aforementioned LotR: TT DVD is now in my posession. It's sitting right in front of me, taunting me. I have to finish Hamlet before I get sucked into this, though. Oh, and I won a free cappucino. Yay me!

In approximately 19 hours (if my calculations are correct) I will be the proud owner of a brand spankin' new copy of "The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers" Extended edition DVD! That's right folks, it comes out tomorrow, and I'm going straight from my physical therapy appointment to the mall to purchase my copy. Don't expect to hear from me for a couple of days, as I will be holed up in my room thouroughly examining every piece of information on all of the disks. Oh joy! Oh rapture! Numerous hours of LotR viewing pleasure! Weeeeee!

In other news, hanging out with [ profile] gothic_cowboy and [ profile] melancholia33 this weekend was super fun, and we have to do it more often.

I learned how to roll sushi watching Queer Eye for the Straight Guy yesterday. I love that show. I want the Fab 5 to come to my house. They're so absolutely adorable, I want to keep them as pets. :)

My Freaks teacher hasn't e-mailed me back about the project I'm supposed to be working on yet. I'm supposed to be writing a 2-3 page abstract of the final paper, but I have no idea what this entales. So I e-mailed her to ask for some suggestions, and she hasn't written me back. The paper's due Thursday. I'm e-mailing it in to her because I'm going to see Henry IV with Rich [ profile] aziraphalesshop and his mom that night, but I'd like to get it out of the way in order to make time for the above mentioned DVD.

Bleh. My eyes are itchy. I think I'm going to go take out my contacts.

Elizabeth Swann
You are Elizabeth Swann, a brave young woman who
loves adventure. Sometimes you are a little too
brave for your own good though. You are also
very beautiful.

Which Pirates Of The Caribbean character are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

You! Go see this movie! Now! I don't care if you're naked! GO!
fairyrune: (Default)
I'm home! Woohoo! I can run around without shoes! YAY!! Of course, I have to get three weeks worth of laundry done in one day, but that's ok, because I'M HOME!

In other news, musical showcase went extremely well. They were actually turning people away, even with extra seats added to the theater. People were saying that it was the best musical showcase they've ever seen. In short, it rocked!

Saw Sleepy Hollow with Johnny Depp the other night. It was really quite amusing. What Women Want, however, sucked like a Hoover.

I graduate in precisely two weeks! YAAAAY!
