[livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop and I saw "Over the Hedge" last night. It was adorable!

And no, I am not Hammy. But I am stealing this icon from Nikki. ;)

So bored...

Some days, I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off. Others, like today, I'm bored out of my skull. You ALL know what happens when Bubbles gets bored.

If I finish all of my work an hour and a half before quittin' time, I should be allowed to go home. And still get paid. ::nods::

Tomorrow's Friday! And pay-day! Wooo!

I have a new Elmo photo on my desk. It's me and Rich holding him, and we're all dressed up for a wedding. Everyone keeps talking about how fat he is. He's really not fat; you can feel his little ribs like you're supposed to. I tell him he is all the time, though. Rich says I'm going to give him a complex. I say there's nothing at all complex about that cat. Har har har!

I can't wait to go home and cook dinner for my love. And possibly my brother, who is still the most awesome brother in the universe. He gave my car a tune-up the other week. He changed the oil, transmission filter and fluid, spark plugs, spark plug wires, and fuel filter. He's going to do the engine coolant when he gets a chance. He looked all professional in his uniform working on my car! It was SO CUTE. (A pox upon anyone who dares tell my brother that I said he looked cute working on my car!)

GAH! Why is there nothing to DO? Tomorrow I'm going to get slammed. You just watch.

::wiggle::

I have the bestest best boyfriend EVAR!

That is all.

(Love you baby!)

Rich's current AIM away message:
"I love my girlfriend"

::squee!::

I love you too!

I got here tonight, to find that [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop, [livejournal.com profile] mikoroshi, and [livejournal.com profile] hoju3942 had built furniture forts in the downstairs living room and were playing Nerf Gun War.

I've showered and gotten dressed, and they're still at it.

[livejournal.com profile] rhps613, I think you should know I blame this entirely on YOU!
fairyrune: (Default)
And so the countdown has begun! Many thanks to those of you who offered your congratulations. If you've been jonesin' to come visit me at work, you have until January 1st, which is my last day EVER in retail. With any luck, that is.

I gave my two weeks notice to Manager R. on Saturday. She made the pouty face at me, but she understands why I have to leave. Everyone else has been very happy for me. Assistant manager S. has not said a single word to me about it. I will laugh my ass off if she puts me on the schedule after I'm gone.

Other than that, I haven't touched a computer in...at least two days, I think. F-list skip=100, and I barely skimmed some of it. If something of the utmost importance has occurred, let me know, because I probably missed it.

Monday night, I went to see Trans Siberian Orchestra in concert. Oh. My. GOD! I've never been to a concert before. I must say, this was an EXCELLENT first concert to go to.

The music was, of course, amazing. The show was phenomenal! There were lazer lights, and snow, and a twinkle net, and lazer lights THROUGH snow, and it was just so astounding that I almost cried with joy. I dropped a hundred bucks at the souvenier stand, but it was so worth it. I bought a super cool hour glass, and a SIGNED poster (anyone know where I can get a 22x37 frame for cheap?) and a t-shirt for [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop (who is still the bestest best boyfriend evar). Mommy bought me a spiffy light up guitar pin. I wanted a TSO hoodie, but they only had them for toddlers. I may be small, but I'm not THAT small.

Anyway, they played almost all of Christmas Attic, which is my favorite album of theirs, AND they played a track off of their soon to be released new album. That track happened to be "O Fortuna" from Carmina Burana. Holy. Shit. Right before they played that, the front man told everyone in the audience to take out their cell phones and wave them while they played. It was hot. I NEED that CD the instant it's available for purchase. I'll pre-order if I must.

Anyway, they said that they had a big surprise for us at the end. JOAN JETT WAS A SPECIAL GUEST STAR! She came out, and played "I love Rock & Roll" with TSO, then they did an encore of "Carol of the Bells" and the two lead guitarists came out into the audience, and got on a hydraulic lift, and went up in the air.

There were the most amazing pyrotechnics I have ever seen. Blue flames, and yellow ones, and green ones, and pure red ones, and puffs of fire that I thought were going to set the lighting rigs on fire. All you theater techies out there, ask me about the lighting rig sometime.

Wow. Just...wow. I'm totally going again next year, come hell or high water.

I probably won't be around again before the holidays, so Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Happy Yule, and Have a Nice Day (for all the atheists in the audience.) Hope everyone has a safe and joyful week.

Come to think of it, has anyone gotten my holiday cards in the mail yet? My post office can be widgy sometimes, and I'd like to know if I have to go yell at someone.

In closing, I'd like to quote Animal:
"Peace on Earth, GIMME PRESENTS!"

1. Who made that kickass fairy icon?
Oh, just some guy I know. I can't remember his name...Dick? Or was it Rick? No, wait! Rich was his name! :P

2. Which is more important this summer, the skirt or the shoes?
That is the all-important question. For those of you who don't know, I need to purchase two items at faire this year: new skirt, and new shoes. The skirt was supposed to happen last year, but I bought a sword instead.
Anyway, the skirt I have right now is actually a dance skirt, and it drives me nuts. The shoes are a different story. I was wearing Dreamshoes Nazareths (the lace up sandals), but gravel kept getting stuck to the laces and giving me crazy evil blisters. So now I have a pair of mocassins I use, but I might use my Aerosoles half-calf boots....
To make a long story short, probably the shoes. I've narrowed it down to either a pair of Sandlers or Dreamshoes Jesters. We'll see.

3. Axe or drakkar?
Axe. Definitely Axe. It's less expensive, so you can wear it more often, and I like it when you smell good.

4. Why a squirrel?
Why not? Squirrels are agile and quick, monks are agile and quick. And you look cute with that fluffy tail. :)

5. What is it about Spongebob that scares you so much?
Helllllloooooo! He's a fucking dish sponge! And he walks and talks and sings and makes hamburgers! Do you really want your dish sponges doing that stuff? It's not even like he's a natural sponge. Natural sponges are not square, and do not wear pants. And have you seen his eyes? He's got these bulging bloodshot eyes, like a fucking serial killer! What's not scary about that????

So yeah. You kids know the deal. Comment for five questions posed by yours truly.

It has just occurred to me that I have not informed all of you lovely people of what the hell I'm doing with myself, in this, my final semester in college. (Holy CRAP I graduate in May!)

Monday 6-8.20PM-B&W Photography 1. (The studio is in Chinatown. Never get lost in Chinatown. My final project? "The Adventures of Pooky Bear.")
Thursday 6-7.50PM-American Sign Language II. (My entire class, including the instructor, has somehow come to the [extremely incorrect] conclusion that I am a dominatrix. It's highly entertaining. Oh, and I know lots of dirty signs now.)

Online:
Reading for Writing (Mildly interesting, and probably a very easy A.)
Web Page Design and Construction (Check out my rox0r HTML sk1llz! http://beard.dialnsa.edu/~lesliefay)
Intro. to Social Psych (Hasn't started yet.)

In other news, I took Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop to see Spamalot on Broadway for Valentines day. For those of you who don't know, they've made Holy Grail a musical, starring Tim Curry, David Hyde Pierce, and Hank Azaria. Holy crap. It was A MAZ ING! Go see it. Now.

There's been lots of drama at work, but that shall have to wait for another time.

It's snowing, and my dog is crazy. What's for lunch?

Wow, I haven't updated in like three months...

I keep thinking out really kick ass journal entries...and then never writing them.

Suffice it to say that life is good, busy, and full of cookies and my sweetie. On a more specific note, Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop got me Arwen's Evenstar pendant for Valentine's day. You may all be jealous now.

At the moment, I'm procrastinating getting in the shower. Perhaps Sims 2 can help me in this endeavor...
fairyrune: (Avatar)
because he brings me roses at work. And yesterday, he gave me Paper Mario 2 as an early Chrishannayule present, AND he let me play it. Booyah! I win. :)

In unrelated news, I'm in the process of learning Voltaire's "Goodnight Demon Slayer" in American Sign Language. Not as easy as I'd thought it'd be, but fun! "Slayer" is a fun sign.

Off to bed with me, for I must away to the Hallmark of DOOM at an early hour.

What can I say? This weekend was the most insane I have ever experienced at faire. So many emotional highs...and lows. Where should I start? I suppose the beginning is as good a place as any...

Saturday
First of all, Jolene [livejournal.com profile] lovethescythe was visiting from Mickey town this weekend. She was thoroughly pounced upon the moment I laid eyes on her. Sorry about almost crushing you to death, but you did say you wanted bear hugs. :)

Friday night I had gone to visit [livejournal.com profile] thecoddesslives at her place of employment. She told me that I would be getting a big surprise at faire this weekend, but she wouldn't tell me what. Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop knew what it was, but he wasn't going to give me the slightest hint. I was talking to Dark Angel [livejournal.com profile] euph0ra about what it might be Saturday morning, and I mentioned that I thought it could be M!ke [livejournal.com profile] defectivesoul coming home from Air Force duty in Spain, even though (last I heard) he wasn't due home until October. Well, I must be psychic, because someone snuck up on me later that day. M!KE'S HOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I totally freaked out and started squealing and pouncing on him. I got many comments about my sudden break in character, but I don't care. It was a special occasion, and well deserved. Of course, he very nearly gave me a heart attack, and I immediately pummeled Rich for not telling me, but YAAAAAAAAAAAAY! Welcome home, [livejournal.com profile] defectivesoul. We're glad to have you back!

Sunday
Sunday was wonderful and horrible all at once. I'll start with the wonderful, because that happened first.
You are reading the journal of the new Mistress of the Fae Guild at NYRF! That's right folks, I'm in charge of a guild. Mitch had the wonderful idea that since no one's really doing anything with the guild at the moment, I should be put in charge. He talked to Lars, and they cleared it with [livejournal.com profile] firebow, and poof! I'm Mistress Fae. I'm going to make a valiant attempt at getting the guild back on its feet and more organized. Next weekend I'm going to Lundegaard and getting the list of the current members.

Now, most of you have already heard from me what the horrible was. Instead of repeating myself here, I am going to let Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop tell the story in his own words in his journal, when he's ready.

I will, however say this:
Anyone who says that Rich is anything other than innocent is grossly mistaken. I am asking all of you to please, please, PLEASE correct anyone who says he was involved in any wrongdoing. Rich is the most honorable, trustworthy, and honest man I have ever known. As my friends, and as his friends, I hope that you will help prevent people from thinking otherwise.

Monday
Monday made me feel much better about the events of Sunday. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who was there for me, even if it was only to listen to the truth. It makes me feel wonderful to know that I have people I can depend on to be there for me when I need support. I hope you all know I'm here for you too.

Anyway, I finally bought my Starfire on Monday. It's the 24 inch light sword, and they wrapped the handle in purple leather for me. So pretty...I have named her Serena.

We sold out of roses rather early. I was done with my basket completely by about four o'clock. After that I ran around saying goodbye to everyone and making sure all of Rich's friends got up to date information on the situation. ([livejournal.com profile] mynock25, I'm sorry I didn't get to talk to you!) After that, I went home. After changing clothes, Rich and I played swords on my front lawn. Serena handles beautifully, but I have a long way to go before I know enough to actually wear her regularly. We scared my neighbors, and my grandparents, who happened to be visiting.

Another big thank you goes out to [livejournal.com profile] thecoddesslives and [livejournal.com profile] goodbyesnothing. Dinner was fun! I think we both needed to get out with friends who weren't involved in the stupidity in any way shape or form. ::hugs::

Thus ended the insanity of this Black Monday weekend. It keeps getting crazier every year...

PS-[livejournal.com profile] firebow, I'm really sorry I didn't get to talk to you about the guild. I got back to the grove right after you had left to go home. Drop me an e-mail when you get a chance.

That's all folks!

The problem of how to move my computer into my room has been solved by my wonderful, handsome, sexy, intelligent, boyfriend Rich.

Previously, my room was arranged as follows:
Small wooden desk next to the door - Closet door - CORNER - hamper - bookshelf - nightstand - bed - dresser.
Rich suggested replacing the wooden desk with an L desk, using half of it for the 'puter, and half of it for whatever was on the wooden desk. Then we loft the bed, put the bookshelf under it, move the bed down into the corner, put the dresser where the wooden desk was, and put the L-desk at the end of the bed.

I now have this desk and this chair, both courtesy of Mom, who loved the idea. Steven (my kid brother) is going to make the risers for my bed (soon, I hope). Until then the bookshelf is pretty much where it was.

A few stuffed animals are laying piled on top of one another, but they'll get new homes once I get the bookshelf out of the way. Also, I'm getting cable in my room. :)

Many thanks to my wonderful, handsome, sexy, intelligent, boyfriend Rich for coming up with everything and helping me put it all together. Yay!

I survived Kids Days, thankfully. Made close to 100 bucks, which was very good, since work only put me on once a week in May.

Otherwise, my life is somewhat boring. Not doing much besides hanging with Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop. Sunday was our ten month anniversary. <3 <3 That's a record for me. :) We spent the day chilling in the pool and the hottub. :)

Speaking of pools...
Rich is thinking of having a pool party/BBQ at his house in Rockland on July 4. The only question is, can enough of our friends come to make it worth it? If you can and want to come, drop one of us a line. It's not definite yet. We're just sort of testing the waters, as it were.

My father is installing central air in our house. The place is a mess. It's driving me nuts.

I'm sure I had more to say at some point, but I can't remember it now. Oh well.
fairyrune: (Default)
I am pleased to announce that Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop got out of the hospital today. He's in practically no pain, and can eat solid food.

Many thanks to everyone who sent good wishes. :)

Happy Day Before All the Heart Shaped Boxes of That Heavenly Substance We Know as Chocolate Go On Sale!

I didn't mean to cause a panic with that last post, I really didn't.

Rich is perfectly fine. His life was never in danger, just his mouth.

He had a very badly infected molar. The needed to operate to remove the tooth, the impacted wisdom tooth behind it, and drain the infection. The drainage tubes come out tomorrow.

He's going to be in the hospital for a couple of days on IV antibiotics, so they can be absolutely sure the infection won't reappear.

He's at Westchester Medical Center. If you want his phone number, IM me, e-mail me, call me, whatever.

Me? I'm really friggin' tired. Goodnight.
fairyrune: (Default)
Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop is in the hospital. He was admitted last night for emergency oral surgery to remove a severe infection. He'll be at Westchester Medical Center for the next few days.

The surgery went well, and he's going to be just fine, but they're keeping him on IV antibiotics and painkillers right now. They need to make sure the infection isn't going to come back.

More details later, maybe.
fairyrune: (Default)
You know what's really wonderful? A nice, long, hot bath on a cold day. I smell all vanilla-y now. :)

You know what's really funny? When a cat by the name of Elmo sits on a person by the name of Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop's face.

You know what's really cute? When said cat decides it's cuddle time and drapes himself over two sets of sleeping legs.

You know what's a bit annoying? When previously mentioned cat decides he wants to be pet and meows to wake you up so you can do so.

Thanksgiving at my house was very good. The whole family was here: Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Patti, Uncle Harold, Dereck, Heather, and Dereck's new girlfriend, Jill. Since there was an extra person, and I'm the smallest kid in the family, I got upgraded to the grownups table. :) I also got to hear the story of how, years ago, my grandmother tried to commit couchicide with a pen.

When my aunt and uncle were first married, they went couch shopping with Grandma. The salesman was talking up this one couch, saying how it was stain resistant and whatnot. It was even puncture proof; you could jab a pen into it, and it wouldn't leave a hole! The salesman started to walk towards the next piece of furniture, and as soon as he turned his back, Grandma produced a pen and brutally stabbed the couch with it! Of course, it didn't even leave a mark. Needless to say, they bought the couch.

I think my family managed to thoroughly terrify Jill, because we're all nuts. Heh.

I had to work all day Friday, which kind of sucked. As long as I remember that I'm getting paid to do almost nothing, I'm fine, though.

Saturday Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop and I went to see A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden with my parental units. The show was very good, and Rich even bought me a Scroogie bear. :) Went to Olive Garden after, it was all yummy.

That's all for now. I have a couple of essays I really don't want to write tomorrow. I also have a seven page paper on Hamlet or Othello or The Tempest due in two weeks, but I have no idea what I'm going to write about. Any ideas?
