I worked that concert (see my post!). I think i nearly hit mr daltry with a truss. I saw this post and i didn't realize you went to the concert. Then i was looking up TSO concert videos because i wanted to see if i could find one that shows the lighting trusses moving above the stage, and i saw that a whole bunch of them mention "robert daltry" and i was like, that name sounds farmilliar... wait! bubbles mentioned that name. So i googled him and looked at some recent photos, and i was like, Woah! hey! that guy! I nearly clocked him with the video truss! he did the smile chuckle wave thing and walked past with some other people and a blond with random chunks of hair dyed different colors.
Rich is jealous of your concert-working-ness. He was sitting there all night going "Check out all of the Color Blasts! Look at that light! And those!" (He works for a lighting company, in case you didn't know.)
You almost hit Roger Daltry?! And you didn't know who he was??

I think I may cry now. I feel old... I mean, it was bad enough that my brother and his g/f didn't know...
well besides not knowing who he was, backstage things are going really hectic. we try to get the talent out before we start running around with big boxes and huge chunks of metal and lights, but they sometimes take their time so you're pushing shit down the same hallway they are walking down... anyway...
I walked past bruce springstein once without knowing who he was until someone else pointed at him and was like "that's bruce" and i was like, "Oh, Hey that's nice. Check out the way this truss folds up for storage? fucking rad!" That will all change come feb 13th, spice girls will be at the arena, i'm trying to get on that show so bad. I'm just worried I'll scream like a little fangirl if i see them.
as for TSO's lights. Those were fucking awesome. I mean, genesis has a cooler stage setup on the whole, but they didn't have nearly the amount of cool lights going on above the stage... Over the audience on the floor was two rectangle trusses with a span of white sheeting in the middle, was anything projected or done with that? I never found out. Also did it snow or confetti? I though i saw something like snowbags going up at one point.
Rich should come work. I'm not part of the union yet, so he has as much chance as I for working. There's a hotline you can call to find out about potentially working, then you go "Shape" which means stand outside the boss's office hoping some of the people scheduled to work don't show up and the boss'll be like, "hey you shaper, sign in and go push some boxes"
