Another one bites the dust...

And so another season of faire ends. Overall, I'd have to say it was good. Not astoundingly fantastic, but good. I'm going to enjoy having my weekends again, but I'm going to miss all of you, who I won't get to see on a weekly basis again until next year. I made so many new friends this year!
You know, it's strange. At faire, for the first time in my life I feel accepted, and (dare I say) popular. There are people who know me, and like me, yet I have no idea who they are. I'm minorly famous! Yet there are still times when I feel like an outsider, like no one would really notice if I were gone. It's rather surreal.
The worst part of closing weekend, in my opinion, is the knowledge that there are people who have been there every day, but after this past weekend, we will never see them again. For whatever reason, they just won't come back. There's no way to tell right now who it might be, and that makes me sad. There are some people you get so used to seeing every day, that they become part of the scenery. Once they're gone, though, you miss them. Too late.
Now it's time to get back to reality. Time to clean, (holy CRAP do I need to clean!), and spend some quality time with my sweetie. It seems as though it's been AGES since we had a day off together, to just do whatever.
There's so much that I want to do! First and foremost, tonight I am having a nice long, HOT, bubble bath. My muscles are on the verge of revolting, so I must appease them somehow!
I want to go bugger off to the woods one day with my camera, a picnic lunch, and of course
aziraphalesshop, and just play. I want to go up to New Paltz and wander all day, maybe get some Bailey's Cheescake at 'Cuddy's. Mmmmmm...cheesecake.
I need to get going on our Halloween costumes. I'm being a purple kitty, and Rich wants to be a Jedi, if he ever purchases the pattern. :P
I've been reading up on home canning, and it seems easy enough, I just have to get the equipment. I may have to wait until next year to actually make anything, but we shall see. I have a recipe for "Any Time of Year Strawberry Preserves" that looks tasty.
Part of me wants to learn quilting, but maybe I'll learn to crochet instead.
Then there's the whole "Where are we going to live?" issue, which needs to be dealt with, but is not at panic status yet. If it gets to panic status, I'll let you all know.
By the way, if anyone remembers the creepy guy who thought I was deaf from last year, he never showed up this season. I wonder if that's my fault, and then I remember that I don't particularly care.
Season totals and averages and perhaps a graph to be posted once I get them calculated.
...
I do so wish I was being cuddled right now.

Date: 2006-09-25 07:14 pm (UTC)The ONLY bad thing about my new apartment is that there's no bathtub, just a shower. ::sob::

Date: 2006-09-25 07:19 pm (UTC)That's one of the requirements for if I ever own a house. I want a nice big bathtub, maybe one with claw feet, or the room for one.
