Nah. I had two goldfish once when I was a kid. Not only were they the most boring pets EVER, they only lasted about two weeks. One got stuck behind the filter thingy in the tank and drowned, and the other pined away for its friend and died shortly after. It sucked.
I have to agree. Fish are pretty useless pets. I used to have goldfish, as well as tropical fish and even though the tropical fish were prettier to look at, they were still boring and even more work to take care of. And of course, they all died for stupid reasons like the PH level was never right, one fish ate the other, or my cat decided to go fishing for his dinner.
I had a tiny catfish that did that once. He disappeared and we didn't know where he went. It wasn't until a year later when we were breaking the tank down for good that we found his little fishy skeleton behind the tank.
Yeah. His first one stopped moving for a while, so we buried it. Then he got another one, and when that one died it fell out of its shell and stunk to high hell. The third one was stopped moving, and Mom kept pestering him to clean up the cage before it started to smell. He never did, then one day all of a sudden the damn thing was moving around again! He looked it up, and it turns out that hermit crabs hibernate occasionally. So we figure the first one wasn't actually dead when we buried it.
That DOES sound yummy, but I actually think I'm gonna get stir fry from a Houlihans up the road. I've got a gift card that should cover it. Yay for free food!
We had some fish, can't remember what kind, but we were warned it was very aggressive... we put it in a tank with like 3 feeder goldfish... we fed them regularly... the feeder fish ate the "aggressive" one, then started to turn cannibal... so we flushed them all...
