Anybody remember about a month ago there was a story in the news about a family who couldn't get their kid's name on a birthday cake because they had named the child "Adolf Hitler"?

Guess what?

The kids have been removed from the home.

Is anyone surprised? I'll be interested to see how this turns out.

The only thing that shocks me about it is that it took this long.

Naming your kid adolf hitler? You could make a case for that in itself being abuse.

And anyone who would name a kid that? Not right in the head, no matter how much hate they monger...I'd look into that family REAL close just based on the names!

You can name your kid whatever you want as long as it doesn't have numbers in it. End of story

See but if Daddy was a pyrotechintian or a fireworks developer that still might not be grounds. It's like Steve Irwin taking his kids with him on croc hunts or having them handle smaller animals. WE think it's unsual and dangerous, but Steve would know better how much danger his kids were in and would never put his kids into something they couldn't handle. It's a family thing.

If they could prove that the explosives were illegal or for a nefarious purpose like blowing up city hall, then they have a case.

They're an ACLU lawyer's dream.

Actually, in the United States it can't have any curse words in it either. One might argue that "Adolf Hitler" is a profanity!

They were probably taken away for a good reason, as I can't imagine children being taken away from their parents for something as trivial as a name.
If that is the case, better go down to the Handler's residence to take little Richard away from mommy and daddy for "abuse".
I remember hearing about the people at the store refusing to put the kid's name on a cake. I'd have happily done so, it's the kids name after all. Even if it wasn't, Big Whoop, it says Adolf Hitler Campbell. One Adolf Hitler was a lunatic, maybe this one won't be so bad, and maybe because of his name will try harder to make the name Adolf Hitler a little less "verboten".
As an aside, it also sucks that the toothbrush mustache can't get a comeback.

I know they make it a policy not to comment, but considering they are conceivably using a public issue as probable cause, they really need to say something. I agree with everyone who said they can't take the kids for having weird names. I just hope for my sake as a tax payer they have a real reason or this is going to get ugly, fast.
