I have an appointment to get my first shot of Gardasil next week. I've done my research, and decided that this is the right thing for me to do.

Has anyone else gotten it yet? What was your experience? Will I need Rich to come with me and hold my hand?

No big deal and no side effects for me... Needles don't bother me though.

It wasn't really that serious honestly.

I got the series and it was the best decision I could have made.

Rich doesn't need to hold your hand.

The shot itself hurts a little because it is ICE COLD. Seriously, they keep it in the freezer. You'll feel like you have a charlie horse in the area where you get the shot. After that, you might be a bit sore for a day or two.

It's SO worth it though.

I second this, and as for the area burning or whatever...well, any vaccination might make you feel a little off for a few days. I got the first of the shots last year started in the summer and got the last one this past February.

I got the shots, and the only complaint? My arm was sore like a mofo for a few days. Just make sure you don't get the shot in your dominant arm ... or do what I did and get a shot of Gardasil in one arm, and the flu shot in the other arm AT THE SAME TIME.
