Geico Rocks My Socks!
Mar. 22nd, 2007 12:43 pmLast night, I passed another Adult Milestone. I got my own car insewerants!
I went to Geico; they had the lowest rates of all the quotes I got. Unfortunately, I'm a spazz, and I made when I entered my info into the website, and I ended up getting about five different quotes within a twenty minute span. I still can't figure out how that happened...
Slightly frustrated, I called the hotline. I spoke to a very nice young lady, whose name I completely forgot to ask. Oops! Anyway, she hooked me up. I now have full, comprehensive coverage, including full glass coverage, a rental thing if my car breaks, AND roadside assistance. Even after taking my recent accident into account, I'm still paying slightly less than I was on my parents' policy before the accident!*
The girl I spoke to was very easy to understand, and it all took less than half an hour. I HIGHLY recommend getting a quote on the website, but if you decide to buy from them you should call. My rate ended up being less than any of the quotes I had gotten from the website!
My Awesome Mother is going to the DMV this afternoon to switch the car into my name. As of about 6PM tonight, Celine will be (officially) mine, all mine! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!
*My mother would pay the insurance in full every six months or whatever, and I would pay her back on a monthly basis. If I did the monthly thing with Geico it would be a bit more, but I have a plan! I put the payment for my first six months on my brand new introductory 0% APR credit card, and I set up my savings account to automatically withdraw 1/6th of my next payment on the first of every month from my checking account. This way, when my renewal date rolls around, the money will be ready and waiting in my savings account, AND it will have been earning interest the whole time! I thought it was a pretty brilliant plan, myself. :)
