Birthday Update!
Apr. 23rd, 2004 12:29 pmI finally have time to write about how wonderful my birthday was!
On my actual birthday, (the 14th) I got presents. :) These included the Dark Crystal Collector's Edition DVD and a Dave & Buster's card from my wonderful, fantastic boyfriend Rich
aziraphalesshop.
From the parental units and the younger fraternal unit I received LotR Trivial Pursuit (which I will kick anyone's butt at, anywhere, anytime), two books by Garth Nix, some bubble bath and lotion, Clue on DVD, a LotR National Geographic DVD, The RotK Visual Companion, a CD of music by EverStar based on LotR, and The Great Muppet Caper on DVD. (The last two didn't arrive until later.)
On my way to class that night, I got stuck in traffic so terrible that I would not have been able to actually arrive at class before it was over. So, I turned around and came home. At home, dinner was waiting. After dinner, there was an unexpected ice cream cake! The family sang to me, and Snowball even joined in! It was the cutest thing ever.
Fast forward to Thursday. After my class, I drove up to New Paltz. Ricky called me to wish me happy birthday, and it was super cool.
We went out to Cabaloosa's/Oasis for 80's night. They didn't make me pay a cover charge. :) Many thanks to
mclongbaugh,
thecorinthian2,
defectivesoul, and
majicou83 for coming to party with me. :)
The Stefan person bought me a White Russian, which I found to be super yummy. That was all I drank the entire evening. Therefore, I did not get drunk. Couch Tim later yelled at me for that fact, but personally, I prefer watching (and sometimes laughing at) the drunk people to being a drunk person.
Friday was a day of recovering from the partying. There were many snuggles, and video games.
Saturday
ever_abstract and
gothic_cowboy came up to visit for my birthday. They brought me a really pretty ceramic fairy figure. (Thanks guys!) She's currently residing on my window sill. I have to figure out a more prominent home for her, though. That requires room cleaning.
We showed them around NP, and spent quite a bit of money. It was much fun. We ended up going to many shops, one of which is called Dragon's Lair in the Water Street Market. There, I finally found something to spend Grandma's Christmas money on. It's a pewter figurine of a fairy sitting on a unicorn. The fairy's wings are holographic sparkly stuff. It's so pretty!
Sunday was yet another day of recovery and laziness. (See Friday)
Monday was dinner with my family at the Outback in Suffern. Grandma and Grandpa came. I ordered a Wallaby Darned, which I enjoyed greatly. The waiters came out and sang at me at dessert. Then I had an Irish Cream coffee, which was very large, but nummy.
At that point, my 21st birthday was officially over, and so is this post. :)
