Happy Easter!

You have to love a holiday where a pagan fertility symbol delivers and hides other pagan fertility symbols to all the good, chaste Christian girls and boys of the world.

Dying eggs is no fun without someone to do it with. :(

The Easter Bunny was nice to me...

I wasn't expecting the Easter Bunny to pay a visit to my house this year. After all, I'm turning 21 on Wednesday, (hint, hint,) and my brother thinks he's 30. I dyed eggs anyway, though, because it's fun.

Mom woke me up Sunday morning, and upon my entrance into the living room I found that the Easter Bunny had indeed made an appearance! He hid all the eggs, and the bro and I found them all.

The best part came before the hunt, though. We had gotten the cutest stuffed Ty rabbit at work. It was colorful, soft, snuggly, and sparkly! (Much like me...:)) Anyway, I hinted repeatedly to Mom that I should receive that bunny in my Easter basket, and was shot down repeatedly. "You have enough rabbits!"

Lo and behold, on Easter morning, sitting on top of my brand new copy of "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Motion Picture Soundtrack" was the bunny! Yaaaaay! My mom rocks my socks. :)

Church was icky and pissed me off, but I won't ruin the upbeat nature of this post by ranting about that just yet.

Dinner with the family was fun, and we got cookies!

Then Rich [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop and I passed out in front of the TV for the rest of the day.

All in all, it was a lovely holiday.

Rant...

Darn you lucky people who actually get spring break! I've been home for forty eight hours, and I'm already stressing about going back tomorrow. I don't especially want to go back to the Strat. I want to sleep in my own bed, and shower without any sandals on, and run around in bare feet, and snuggle with my puppy.
The worst part is, I won't be doing those things for three weeks. THREE WEEKS! Because of icky scheduling, I can't come home next weekend or the weekend after. This will be the longest amount of time I have ever been away from home. I may snap. If I do, I'm sure it will be on the news. I can just see the headline: "STUDENT LOSES CONTROL: POLICE INVESTIGATE"
I have a feeling I may need to lock myself in my room with my books and tell the rest of the world to leave me the hamster alone.
After these grueling weeks are over, there's something like two weeks until graduation. I plan on being home both of those weekends, just because I can.
Anyway, don't expect much communication for the next three weeks. I feel bad borrowing Ricky's internet too often, and Licoln Center is just a pain.

**END RANT**

PS: The Easter Bunny was quite nice to me. I got chocolate cherries, the new Harry Potter DVD, the Fairy Oracle, and 50 bucks. :)

Now it's off to bed so I can be awake to go back tomorrow. **Grumble**

Little Paul Remembers Me!

I ended up going to church today, but I'm glad I did. One of my former Sunday School students came up to me and asked when I was going to be his teacher again! That made me feel great. We had a nice little discussion about Easter eggs and dogs. And now I have a very large mug of coffee; life is good!

Too much time...

35 days until I graduate.
105 days until Faire. (Yes, it's that far away.)

Happy Easter tomorrow to all of my Christian and semi/pseudo Christian friends. Happy Sunday to the rest of y'all.
We're trucking it up to Aunt Patti's for Christmas dinner, Easter Chocolate, and Birthday cake. (My family likes to kill numerous birds with one holiday.)

Egg-dying was a near disaster today. We bought this "Swirl" egg dying kit for a change, but it turned out to be a piece of absolute crap. The only color that actually worked was blue. I was about to get very upset when Mom saved the day. From out of nowhere she produced a Paas egg dying kit! And we wonder why my Mom is the best Mom in the world...
(The eggs look quite nice, by the way.)

Speaking of Mom...
She happens to not be feeling well, which means I just might get out of going to church tomorrow, which means I won't have to see any of the horribly fake and hypocritical people who would just bring my happy holiday down a notch. It's not that I'm happy Mom's sick, but it's good to be able to see the bright side to every situation.

In other news...
I re-read the first four books in the Hitchiker's series this week. I appear to have started a trend. Jen's borrowing each of them, followed by Patti. Who knows how big this may get? All of AMDA may get hooked!
I was going to read Mostly Harmless this weekend, but I somehow managed to leave it behind at school. Oh well, I have plenty of other books here. And an essay to write, for that matter.
