Questions from [livejournal.com profile] defectivesoul

1> why faeiries?
Well, why not? I had always had a sort of affinity for fae creatures, but I didn't really do any research until I got Brian Froud's "Good Faeries, Bad Faeries" for Christmas one year. That really sparked my interest. Then, the week before I started my job at faire, I got really sick and lost my voice. (It was the first time in over a year that I'd been sick.) One of my coworkers suggested borrowing a pair of fairy wings as an excuse to not talk. The shtick worked so amazingly well that I've kept it ever since.

2> what role or actor/actress first inspired you to go into this line of work?
I know this is going to sound odd, but Kermit the Frog. See, there's this scene in The Muppet Movie, the first scene, in fact, where Kermit's just sitting on his log in the swamp playing the banjo. Then Dom DeLouise comes along and tells him he could be in movies and "make millions of people happy." That inspires Kermit to go on this fabulous journey, make all kinds of friends, and end up in Hollywood. The rest is history. That's kind of my goal, I just want to entertain and make people happy.

3> how do you stay so happy without yer face hurting from the smile? (thank you by the way, it makes me smile)
Sugar. Lots of sugar. And caffeine. Actually, I just love being around nice people, you being one. Doing things I like makes me happy, so I smile. I smile alot at faire because it helps sell lots of roses, which means more money for me, which in turn makes me happy, which makes me smile. It's kind of a cycle. And yes, my face does hurt sometimes, but smiling releases endorphins, so I don't really mind.

4> how long have you worked at nyrf?
I started in the middle of the season two years ago, so this would be my third year, but only my second full season.

5> best movie ever?
Duh! Lord of the Rings! All of them! At once! Marathon at my house sometime after the RotK extended DVD gets released. :)
