As most of you (should) already know, Rich proposed to me on Friday April 26th, 2013. I, of course, said yes. He had a gorgeous ring custom-made with a family heirloom diamond, two amethysts, and a rose gold band. I have sent him many inspiration photos over the years; the ring I ended up with is even more beautiful than I could have imagined. SO SPARKLY OMG.

The wedding is probably going to be at least a year from now, what with the having to plan and pay for things. I've decided that I want to fold a thousand paper cranes for the even. They're not terribly complicated, and if I do ten a day it will only take me a hundred days to finish. We've got plenty of time!

Other than that and a few wedding party members, nothing else has been decided. Rich and I are going to sit down and decide exactly what we want the wedding to be like tonight, and then I suppose we'll start looking at venues. We're not in any big rush, and we're only going to do this once (hopefully,) so we want to do it right.

We think we might like to do a brunch buffet, but most wedding venue sites only have menus and pricing for dinner-type items so we'd have to contact places to find out if they can even do brunch, and how much they'd charge. We both love breakfast foods, brunch has a little something for everyone, and (most importantly) we can serve BACON!

Rich and I definitely don't want to go into debt over this one day, so we'll see what's what. I'm definitely willing to compromise on some things in order to have all of our friends and family there to celebrate with us.

So excited!

On September 10th, 2006, for the first time in my rose selling career, I will not be present at the New York Renaissance Faire.

"Oh no, Bubbles! Say it ain't so!" I know, I know. It's terrible. I'll miss you guys!

"But WHY must you miss faire? WHY??" [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop's mother* is getting married. Unfortunately, it will cause more problems if I don't go to the wedding than will result from my missing faire.

I was very disappointed and upset when I found out that I would have to miss a day of faire for the first time ever. I had hoped to have a perfect attendance record, even before [livejournal.com profile] euph0ra started offering incentives for that feat. Of course, this is the first year she's doing that, and it's the first time I'm missing. Go figure.

There is a bright spot amidst the darkness, however. [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop's mother and her fiance have asked me to photograph the wedding. Having never done this before, I wouldn't feel right charging them for my services, but if the pictures turn out well, I figure I could start a small side business. It's just a thought, but we'll see.

Also, the wedding's not 'til noon, so I get to sleep in!

In conclusion, mark your calendars. September 10th all of you will be cavorting and having tons of fun at faire, and I shall be at a wedding for the crazy people.

*Note for those new to my LJ: [livejournal.com profile] aziraphalesshop is my boyfriend of three (fabulous!) years, Rich. His mother is completely insane, and I don't particularly care for her. (She is completely oblivious to that fact.) Her fiance, Norman, is also crazy, but somehow manages to be the stable one in the relationship. (He's significantly more likeable.) The capital of Kansas is Topeka, and there will be a pop quiz sometime next week.
